To have good writing style in English, writers need to use a mix of simple, compound, and complex sentences. Sometimes a simple sentence has a great impact, but if used too much, the writing will lose its importance. Hence, writers should try to use some of each type of sentence. The most important thing is to think about the relationships the ideas have to each other, and place them accordingly. 

Among the styles that are grammatically correct, but create a poor style of writing are: Choppy and Stringy.

1- Choppy Sentences

One problem writers have when they want 'to play it safe' with grammar is choppy sentences. This is when a writer uses too many simple sentences without much coordination or subordination. 

Choppy:

She took dance classes. She had no natural grace or sense of rhythm. She eventually gave up the idea of becoming a dancer.

Revised:

She took dance classes, but she had no natural grace or sense of rhythm, so she eventually gave up the idea of becoming a dancer.

Choppy sentences: Peter was busy. He could not leave.

Revised: Peter was busy, so he could not leave.

Choppy sentences: The girl takes a walk. She listens to music.

Revised: When the girl takes a walk, she listens to music

She studied hard for the exam. She wanted to pass.

Choppy sentences: She studied hard for the exam. She wanted to pass.

Revised: She studied hard for the exam because she wanted to pass.
