Objectives of this Lecture

At the end of the lecture, the students will be able to:
- Define attention.
- Describe factors that influence attention.
- Differentiate between change blindness and inattentional blindness.
- Explain different models of attention, such as the filter model, the attenuator model, late-selection models, and the theory of perceptual load.
- Compare and contrast controlled and automatic processing.
- Analyze how automaticity is developed and the potential dangers associated with it.
- Apply the concept of attention to real-world examples, such as eyewitness testimony and driving.
