Lesson Summary
This unit will focus on European exploration of North America, particularly during the first half of the seventeenth century. It will cover reasons for exploration and colonies established and will also specify particular explorers and their discoveries.

- What were the reasons for North American exploration?
- Who were the primary explorers from Europe, what countries did they explore for, and
where did they explore?
- What were the effects of exploration?

· Compare and contrast the wars between native inhabitants and English colonists in both the Chesapeake Bay and New England colonies
· Explain the role of Bacon’s Rebellion in the rise of chattel slavery in Virginia
